FAQs
What are powdered brows? And how is that different or similar to microblading?
The powder brows technique uses a tattoo machine that has a needle instead of a slanted hand-held blade like in microblading.
How long do the brows last?
The procedure is semi-permanent and your results last approximately 1 – 3 years, depending on your skin type, beauty products and environmental factors. Powder Brows is typically a 2 step procedure with the initial appointment and the touchup session around 8-12 weeks later. This ensures that the color is locked in and doesn’t leave the skin completely.
Does it hurt?
For most clients, there isn’t pain associated, but rather discomfort at times. Once Ally does the outline and first pass, a gel epinephrine is applied to the area to minimize discomfort. Most of Ally’s clients are able to relax and snooze away.
What is SMP (Scalp Micropigmentation)?
Scalp Micropigmentation, known as a hair tattoo, is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that uses needles to tattoo pigment into the scalp to replicate hair follicles.
It can cover bald spots, create a shaved head look, or add density to thinning hair.
Does SMP require down-time?
Scalp micropigmentation is non-invasive and requires no down time. In most cases, you will not need to take any extended time away from work, school, or other functions. After treatment it is common to notice slight redness on the scalp for 2-3 days post session.
How does SMP last?
Typically 5-7 years before a touch-up may be needed.
